Terms of Service

Last updated 30 October 2026

Retriever (formerly Pasal) is a hosted tool for running a shop: a storefront, a catalog, an order board, and a set of counter tools. The short version, before the detail: your shop and everything in it stays yours, we are not a bank and we are not the seller, we take no commission on your sales, and we do not delete what you made, except Inbox messages, which are deleted after 30 days, and your shop if you delete your own account (it goes 30 days after you ask). These terms are the agreement between the company that runs Retriever and you, the person or business running a shop on it. They are written in plain language so you can actually read them. They are still a contract, and they bind both of us.

  1. 01

    Who you are dealing with

Retriever is operated by Retriever Labs Pvt. Ltd., a private limited company registered in Nepal on 13 August 2026, registration number 399717/83/84, PAN 623700901, at Bhaktapur Municipality-2, Bhaktapur. We trade as Retriever Labs. If you need our registration details for a contract or a complaint, email us and we will send them.

In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean that company. "Retriever" means the service at retriever.com.np and everything that runs on it, including your storefront, your dashboard, the counter, and the email Retriever sends for you. "You" means the person using Retriever. If you are opening a shop for a business, "you" means that business as well, and by agreeing you confirm you are allowed to agree on its behalf.

You agree to these terms by opening a shop on Retriever and by using it. The sign-in and shop creation screens link to our Terms, Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy. Retriever does not currently keep a record of which policy version each account accepted. The date above identifies this document's update.

These terms are between us and you. Your customers are not a party to them. Nothing here changes what you owe your customers, and nothing here can take away rights the law gives them.

  2. 02

What Retriever is, and what it is not

Retriever puts your shop online. You add a catalog, share one link, and take orders and bookings from a live board. Pro adds the tools that sit behind a counter.

What Retriever is not matters just as much, so here it is plainly. Retriever is not:

    • a bank, and we never hold your money or your customers' money;
    • a payment processor that takes funds and passes them on, because money moves between you and your customer directly (see Taking payment);
    • the seller of anything sold through a Retriever shop, because you are (see You are the seller);
    • the organiser, promoter, venue or host of any event a shop sells tickets to (see Tickets and events);
    • a lender, a debt collector or a credit reference agency, and storing your khata does not make it one (see The khata);
    • your accountant, your tax adviser or your lawyer, and it is not accredited billing software (see Tax, PAN and VAT invoices);
    • a courier, because we do not deliver anything and we do not arrange delivery;
    • the employer of anyone you invite as staff (see Staff you invite);
    • a marketplace, because there is no Retriever directory that shoppers browse and we do not put shops in front of each other's customers. Your customers reach you through your own link, your QR code, or your own domain.
  3. 03

    Who can open a shop

To open a shop on Retriever you must be old enough to sign a contract in Nepal, and you must be running a business or about to start one. If you are naming a business that is not you personally, you must be allowed to act for it.

You must not open a shop if we have previously closed one of yours for breaking these terms, unless we agree in writing.

While Retriever is in early access, each account runs one shop.

  4. 04

    Your account and your inbox

You sign in with a one-time six-digit email code, a password you have set, Continue with Google or Sign in with Apple. You can set a password from the Forgot password link on the sign-in page. Whichever you use, signing in is how we know it is you, and signing in and then using Retriever is how you agree to these terms.

Keep your inbox, password and linked Google or Apple account secure. Someone who gains access to a sign-in method may be able to use your Retriever account with its permissions. Tell us straight away at support@pasal.studio if you think someone else has got into your account.

Everything done under your account is treated as done by you.

  5. 05

    Staff you invite

If you are on Pro, you decide who works in your shop's dashboard and which tabs they get. Without Pro there are no staff accounts, so this clause applies to you only once you have them.

Understand what you are handing over. Depending on the permissions you grant, a staff account can open your customers' names, phone numbers, email addresses, delivery addresses and order history, and, where you grant it, your khata, your Repairs book and your counter. Only invite people you have authorised to see that, give each person only the tabs they need, and remove them on the day they stop working for you. Payslips are the exception: no tab you can grant shows one person somebody else's payslip. Only you and the person the slip names can read it.

Retriever does not keep a record of which staff member looked at which customer. There is no per person read log. If you need that kind of trail, do not share one account and do not hand out access you cannot supervise. The staff PINs on the counter are there to keep staff honest with each other at the counter; they are not a security boundary and should not be treated as one.

When you invite someone, tell them what Retriever holds about them in order to run your shop: their name and email address, the tabs you granted them, their name on the sales they ring, and, if you use it, their PAN and every payslip you issue them, which carries their pay, their deductions and how they were paid. If you record a person's PAN or issue them a payslip, you are handling their wage and tax data and you are the one responsible for it. We hold it for you and we do not use it for anything else.

We may limit how many staff a shop can have and on how many devices each person can be signed in to the dashboard or Retriever Desk at once. When a device limit is on, signing in on one more device signs out the one used longest ago. A device with a bill open is left alone until the bill is closed, unless it has been offline for more than 15 minutes, and it keeps the bill and its waiting sales. We will tell you before we turn a limit on, and while it is on, Settings → Account shows where you are signed in.

What your staff do is done as your shop and is your responsibility, and the clause "If a claim comes because of your shop" applies to it.

  6. 06

    Your shop and your content

Your catalog, your photos, your prices, your shop text and your customer records stay yours. Using Retriever does not give us any ownership of them.

You are responsible for making sure your content is accurate, lawful, and yours to use. That includes every photograph in your shop. A new shop opens with an empty shelf and one picture of ours: a cover photo for your trade, a stock photograph we host, which you may keep on your Retriever shop or replace in Design. Every other picture on your shop is one you put there, and you must be able to show, on request, that you had the right to use it. You are responsible for checking every word Zuno suggests from a photo before you save a product, and for having the right to use the photo.

If you add your own Google, Meta or Microsoft ad tag IDs to your shop, you are responsible for the accounts they belong to, for their settings (including Meta's advanced matching and Google's user-provided data collection, which let their code read what shoppers type), for what you collect through them and how you use it, and for any notice or consent the law asks of you beyond the one Retriever shows your shoppers. Retriever loads those tags only after a shopper says yes, only on your shop's own domain, and never on the checkout, payment or account pages. Only the shop's owner can change them. We may turn them off for a shop where they are misused.

You give us a licence to host, store, copy, resize and display your content so that Retriever can do its job: showing your shop to your customers, showing it to you in your dashboard, putting it in the emails Retriever sends on your behalf, and letting search engines list and preview your own pages. That is the whole licence. It is not exclusive, it is free of charge, and it exists only to run your shop. We do not sell your content, we do not license it on to anyone else, and we do not use your content or your customers' details to train artificial intelligence models. The licence ends when you remove the content or your shop closes, except as needed to retain protected billing records and archives described in our Privacy Policy, provider backups and emails already sent. We cannot recall sent emails.

Separately from that, we may name your shop and show its mark on our own website and materials as an example of a shop built on Retriever. If you would rather we did not, tell us and we will take it down.

  7. 07

    Retriever's design, software and templates

Retriever, including its name, its design and its software, belongs to us. Using the service does not transfer any of that to you. You get a limited, personal right to use Retriever to run your shop for as long as this agreement lasts, and you may not resell it, sublicense it, or copy its software.

This includes the original visual design, text, graphics and code of our landing page and dashboard user interface, to the extent protected by copyright or other applicable rights. Except as permitted by these terms, applicable law or a separate licence, you must not copy, reproduce, distribute or adapt those protected elements, including for another website or app, without our prior written permission. This does not claim ownership of general ideas, functionality or common interface conventions. Third-party materials remain subject to their own licences and owners' rights.

Copying Retriever is not allowed, by hand or with AI. You must not copy or recreate Retriever's landing page, dashboard, storefront templates, illustrations, mascots, logo or wording, and you must not make a site or app that a shop owner or a shopper could mistake for Retriever. Using an AI model, AI agent, coding assistant or design tool to do it is copying too: giving it our pages, screenshots or code and asking for the same design is no different from copying them yourself, and the person who asks is responsible for what it makes. Collecting our pages or screens with automated tools for that purpose is not allowed either.

What happens if you do. We may close your Retriever account at once. We may send takedown notices to wherever the copy is hosted, listed or sold, and bring claims for infringement of our copyright and of the Retriever name and logo, under the law of Nepal and of the country where the copy is published, asking for the copy to be taken down, for damages and for our costs. If an AI company's or another platform's service was used to make, host or sell the copy, we may report it to that company, ask it to act under its own rules, and bring a claim against any company that is responsible under the law that applies.

The storefront templates are ours to license to you. You may use them to run your own shop. You may not copy, resell or redistribute a template, or use one outside Retriever.

If someone claims that a Retriever template infringes their rights, tell us and we will handle it. We will deal with the claim, and if we cannot resolve it we will change or replace the template for you at no cost. If you have paid us for Retriever, we will also pay what a court orders, or what we agree to settle for, up to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. This promise does not cover anything you added yourself: your photographs, your logo, your product text, or a template you have altered.

Where a design or typeface we use requires credit, we will show that credit.

Instagram, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, TikTok, ChatGPT, Claude, Google, Gmail, Vercel, Supabase, Resend, Apple, Windows, Xcode, VS Code, Cursor and other names and logos shown on Retriever are trademarks of their owners. We show them to say what Retriever connects to, runs on or is built with. Retriever is not affiliated with or endorsed by them unless we say so.

  8. 08

    Acceptable use

The Acceptable Use Policy is part of this agreement. Read it. It sets out in detail what may and may not be sold or posted through a Retriever shop, and what happens when a shop crosses the line. We may update that page on its own, without re-issuing these terms, and when we do the date on it changes. If a change matters to how you use Retriever we will tell you.

The short version: do not use Retriever to sell anything illegal, to defraud anyone, to post content you do not have the rights to, to send mail to people who did not give you their address, or to disrupt the platform or other shops.

We may remove content, suspend a shop, or close it, in the way "Suspending or closing a shop" describes.

  9. 09

    Telling us about a problem

If something on a Retriever shop is yours and should not be there, or breaks the law, tell us. Email support@pasal.studio with the exact address of the page, what the material is, why you have the right to ask about it, and how to reach you.

We will reply within 5 working days and tell you what we have decided within 15 days. If we take something down, we will tell the shop what was removed and why, and they can reply. If they do, we will pass their reply back to you. A shop that repeatedly posts material it has no right to will be closed.

Complaints about Retriever itself go to the same address. They are handled by Rohan Bhaju, who founded Retriever, and we will reply within 5 working days and give you an answer within 15 days.

  10. 10

    Support

Support goes to support@pasal.studio. We aim to reply within one working day, and shops on Pro are answered first. That is what we aim for rather than something we guarantee, and "The most we can owe you" sets the limit on what a missed reply can cost us.

  11. 11

    You are the seller

When a customer orders from your shop, the sale is between you and that customer. You are the seller. The sale is in your name, not ours. Retriever records the order and passes you the details so you can fulfil it.

Fulfilment, delivery, stock, returns, refunds, exchanges, receipts, guarantees, and following consumer law are all yours. Nepali consumer law, including the Consumer Protection Act, gives your customers rights that you cannot sign away, such as short windows in which they may return goods. Those duties are yours as the seller. Retriever does not decide them and cannot meet them for you.

Recording a return, refund, cancellation or credit note in Retriever records the shop's decision; it does not transfer money back. The shop must separately arrange repayment. Protected invoices, original returns and correction history remain in the books; deleting a record is not a refund.

Your customers must be able to tell who they are buying from. Put your business name, your address, a phone number or email, and your PAN if you have one, on your shop's About page, and keep them current. Publish your own delivery and returns terms in Settings so your customers can read them. If you publish nothing, the law still applies to you. Retriever prints your legal name and PAN on the invoices your customers receive. If the law where you trade makes you display something, such as a licence, a price list or a registration number, putting it up is your job and not ours.

If a customer complains to us about an order, we will point them to you and pass on what we can. A dispute between you and your customer is between you and your customer.

  12. 12

    Tax, PAN and VAT invoices

You are the taxpayer. Your own registration, your VAT and service rates, your filings and your records are yours to get right.

When you mark an order paid, Retriever gives it the next number in your shop's invoice series for the current Nepali fiscal year, and can email the invoice and a PDF to your customer.

That number and that document are yours. You are the issuer. Checking that the series is complete and correct before you file anything based on it is your job.

Retriever's IRD software approval is pending. IRD mode is limited to Off orTest; Live submission is disabled. When enabled, Test can send newly issued invoice and credit-note data as tests to IRD's published CBMS test service using its test identity. A successful test is not a live filing, approval or proof that your shop is registered. Recording a taxpayer permit does not change this restriction. We do not give tax advice or promise that a document meets a particular tax rule. Keep your own records and confirm your registration and obligations with IRD or your adviser.

  13. 13

    Taking payment

Retriever does not hold or move your money, and we take no commission on your sales on any plan.

For cash, a bank transfer, or a wallet payment made outside Retriever, the order simply records what is owed. You are the one who confirms the money arrived and marks the order paid.

If you take money by QR, your customer can type the transaction number and attach a screenshot of their banking or wallet app so you can match the payment. Retriever records both as your customer's claim and marks nothing paid. Only you can mark an order paid. That screenshot is your customer's bank details: use it only to match the payment. Numbered orders and retained archives cannot be deleted through the ordinary product. Ask us about payment evidence you no longer need; retention limits may apply.

When Retriever offers eSewa checkout and you connect your own eSewa merchant account, the money goes to your account, never to ours. To start a payment and check afterwards whether it completed, we store your merchant secret. Nobody can read it back out through Retriever: not you, not your staff, not anyone else. Only the server that builds your payment request can use it. Your dashboard can tell you that a key is set and when it was last changed, and nothing more. Before you give it to us, check that your own agreement with eSewa allows it: that agreement is between you and eSewa, and we are not a party to it. You can remove the key from Settings at any time. Only eSewa's own answer marks an order paid.

If money needs to go back, or a payment goes through twice, or your customer disputes it, that is settled between you, your customer and the payment provider, under that provider's own rules. We hold no funds at any point and we cannot reverse a payment. If a payment provider is unavailable, orders still record and you can still take money the way you always did.

  14. 14

    Tickets and events

When you sell tickets through Retriever, the event is yours and the sale is between you and the ticket holder. You are the organiser.

Retriever issues the ticket code, stores it, emails it, and checks it at your door. That is the whole of our part. We hold none of a ticket holder's money at any point and we cannot refund a ticket.

Before you put tickets on sale you must publish your own refund and cancellation terms for that event, and give a phone number or an email address your ticket holders can reach. Put both on your shop's About page and in the event's own description, so the person holding a ticket can see who they are dealing with. If an event is cancelled, moved, delayed or oversold, refunds and rearrangements are yours to make, and you are the person the ticket holder deals with. We are not responsible for admission decisions at your door, for a guest refused entry, or for a ticket code used by someone other than the person who bought it.

Treat a ticket code as private, and tell your guests to do the same. Anyone holding the code can look it up and see the name it was issued to and whether it has been admitted. A ticket forwarded in a group chat hands that away.

The door scanner needs a working device and a working network. Keep a list you can check by hand.

  15. 15

    Bookings

When someone books an appointment, a table or a seat through your shop, the appointment is between you and them. Retriever records the request, tells you about it, and can email them about it. Accepting, declining, rescheduling, and turning up are yours.

A booking recorded in Retriever is not a promise we make on your behalf, and we are not responsible for one that is missed, double booked or declined.

Anyone can send your shop a booking request without an account, so check the details before you rely on them.

  16. 16

    The khata

The khata is your book. When you write someone's name, phone number and balance into it, you are recording your own account of what they owe you, and you are the one answerable for whether it is right. Keep it accurate, keep it to people you actually trade with, and correct it when they tell you it is wrong.

The person named in a khata entry has no Retriever account and no way to see the entry themselves, so telling them is on you. When you first write somebody into the khata, tell them you keep one, tell them it runs on Retriever, and give them a way to ask you what is in it. If somebody named in your khata comes to us instead, we will pass it to you, you have 14 days to answer them, and you must tell us what you did. If a complaint is well founded, we will review the record with you and explain what can be corrected or reversed through the supported tools. Protected Khata originals remain on the record; a complaint does not bypass those controls or promise deletion.

We store it for you and show it to nobody else. It is not published, it is not shared with any other shop, and it is never used to score anybody's credit. Retriever is not a credit reference agency and does not report your khata to anyone.

Only give khata access to staff you would trust with that book on paper. And keep the book a book: do not publish it, do not post a debtor's name, photograph or balance anywhere, on your shop or off it, and do not use it to shame or threaten anybody. Chasing what you are owed is your right. Humiliating somebody with a record you keep on our servers is not, and it ends the account.

  17. 17

    Loyalty points

Loyalty points are a promise you make to your customers, not one we make. Retriever counts them and shows them. What they are worth, and whether they are honoured, is yours.

If your shop closes, or you leave Retriever, the points close with it. Telling your customers is your job. Ask us for an export of the points ledger before you go and we will give you one.

  18. 18

    Email we send for you

Retriever sends email on your behalf: order confirmations, status updates, tickets, invoices, booking replies, and sign-in codes. It goes out from an address we own, carrying your shop's name, with replies coming back to you. That means the mail is sent by us, so if somebody complains about it, the complaint comes to us and not to you.

Order, booking, ticket, invoice and sign-in messages support a service somebody requested. Separately, a shop can turn on optional Google review invitations after a genuine completed purchase or visit. The shop must have permission to use the customer's address for that purpose and must respect an opt-out. Review invitations are not a newsletter or permission to send advertising.

You confirm that every address Retriever sends to on your behalf was given to you in order to buy from you or to book with you. Do not enter anybody else's address into an order, a booking or a ticket, and do not use Retriever to reach a list you bought, scraped or inherited. We may block a shop, an address or a network that abuses this, at once and without notice.

Sending capacity is shared by every shop on Retriever. We may reduce, pause or stop sending for your shop at any time, without notice, if your shop's mail is generating complaints, bounces or spam reports, or if a mail provider asks us to. We do this to keep every other shop's order confirmations arriving.

We do not promise that any message will arrive, or arrive at a particular time. We are not responsible for a loss that follows from mail that did not arrive: a sale you did not learn about, a ticket a guest did not receive, or an invoice that was late. Check your order board.

The daily summary email can be switched off in Settings. A shop can pause automatic review invitations, and recipients can confirm an opt-out through the link in a review email. That opt-out stops review invitations from that shop to that email address; it does not stop receipts, sign-in codes or other service messages. Pausing or opting out does not erase records already held. Complaints or provider suppression can also prevent delivery.

Using Retriever to send abusive, deceptive, or bulk unsolicited mail ends the account.

  19. 19

Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp accounts you connect

You can connect your shop's Instagram account, Facebook Page and, once it is available, WhatsApp number to the Inbox, so your customers' messages arrive in Retriever and you can answer them there. If you do, you confirm that the account is your shop's and that you are allowed to connect it, and you agree to follow Meta's terms and its messaging policies: reply only within the time Meta allows after a customer writes, do not start conversations Meta does not allow, and stop when a customer asks you to.

You are responsible for what you send from the Inbox, including product cards, for automatic product help if you turn it on, and, once Retriever offers it, for comment replies: a short public reply and one private message to someone who writes one of your trigger words under your Instagram post or Reel. The trigger words, the public replies and the product each post points to are yours; the private message is Retriever's short thank-you with that product's name, price and link. Before you turn it on, tell your customers about it in your own privacy notice, as the consent in Inbox settings asks. We store and handle these conversations for you as our Privacy Policy describes. Messages are the exception to "we do not delete what you made": Retriever deletes each message, your replies included, within a day of its turning 30 days old, and all of them when you disconnect. Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp keep their own copies.

The chat on your shop page is not a Meta service. Where Retriever has switched it on for your shop, automatic product help answers it by default, using Anthropic's Claude, unless you turn it off in the Inbox's Shop page chat settings. You are responsible for it while it is on, as for anything sent from the Inbox; our Acceptable Use Policy ("Chat on your shop page") and Privacy Policy say how it works.

Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp are Meta's services, outside our control. We are not responsible if Meta changes, limits or withdraws access, or delays or does not deliver a message. We may disconnect an account, or turn off automatic product help, if Meta requires it, if the account's access stops working, or if it is used for spam, harassment or anything our Acceptable Use Policy forbids.

  20. 20

ChatGPT, Claude and other AI assistants you connect

On Retriever Pro the shop owner can let people who work in the shop connect ChatGPT, Claude or another assistant that uses Retriever's connector, so it can read the shop's figures and, if allowed, change the storefront's look and, where Retriever offers it and you turn it on, prepare changes to products, prices, stock, what is on sale, promo codes, delivery fees, opening hours, the shop's public profile, and orders and bookings, each made only after the person confirms it. A change they approve is yours, the same as if it had been made in Retriever. You decide whether to turn it on and who connects. Each person can see only what their own Retriever permissions allow. You are responsible for the people you let connect, and for the choice to send the shop's figures, and customers' names and phone numbers if you allow them, to the company that runs that assistant, under that company's terms.

Retriever sends the same figures the dashboard shows, but the assistant writes its own answer, and it can be wrong. Check anything important in Retriever before you act on it, especially money, tax and stock. We are not responsible for what an assistant says or does with what it receives, or if its company changes, limits or withdraws its service.

We may limit how often an assistant can ask, end a connection that is misused or that our Acceptable Use Policy forbids, and change which tools the connector offers. You can revoke any connection at any time in Settings → AI assistants.

  21. 21

Retriever Desk, the app for your counter computer

Retriever Desk is our app for a shop's counter computer. It is part of Retriever and these terms cover it. It keeps a copy of your catalog and your sales on that computer so the counter keeps working when the internet does not, and it sends sales made offline to Retriever when the connection comes back. Until a sale has been sent, the only copy is on that computer: do not delete the app, its data or the computer's account while it shows sales waiting.

On a Mac, Retriever Desk checks pasal.studio for a new version about once an hour, downloads it in the background and installs it the next time it restarts. Each update is signed by us and the app refuses one whose signature does not match. Signing out does not remove the shop's records from the computer, so look after that computer as you would the shop's books, and see the Privacy Policy for how to remove them.

  22. 22

Company email on your own domain

If your shop has its own domain, Settings can help you set up an address on it, such as hello@ your domain, that forwards to an inbox you already use. Retriever does not send, receive or store that mail. The forwarding is done by the service you choose (Cloudflare or Forward Email) under its own terms, in DNS records you add yourself. Retriever remembers the address and the inbox it forwards to, and reads your domain's public records to tell you whether the setup works.

  23. 23

    When Pro is not on

Retriever is a Pro product. A new shop opens on Pro with no card. We take no commission on your sales whether you are on the trial or a paid plan.

When Pro is not on, Retriever locks. You cannot run the counter, the books, staff or the rest of the dashboard until you subscribe. The screen says to upgrade to Pro to keep using Retriever.

Nothing you have already made is removed when a plan ends. If you added 40 products on Pro and your plan lapses, all 40 stay. Subscribe and every tab comes back as you left it.

  24. 24

    What Pro adds

Pro adds the tools that sit behind a counter: the counter screen, the khata, tickets and the door scanner, bookings, loyalty, promo codes, the Ledger, and the kitchen TV. It also adds staff accounts, an unlimited catalog, your own domain, analytics over a year rather than a week, and the AI help assistant and AI product writer, on the monthly and the annual plan alike. The prices are on the pricing page.

  25. 25

    The 7 days of Pro

Every new shop opens on Pro, free, for 7 days. Every counter tool is on.

We ask for no card to start it and there is nothing to cancel. When the 7 days end, Retriever locks until you subscribe. We do not charge you at the end of it.

  26. 26

Nothing you started is held hostage

This is a promise we make, not a feature we sell.

When a plan ends, Retriever locks until you subscribe again. It will never delete anything you have made, except Inbox messages, which are deleted after 30 days whatever your plan, and everything else you have ever recorded stays. The one other exception is your own choice: if you delete your account in Settings, your shop and what is in it are deleted 30 days later, as the data deletion page explains.

Being straight about where the product is today, because this is the clause it would be worst to overstate. After a plan ends the dashboard locks, so if you need to finish something already begun, a debt to settle, an event already on sale, a booking already promised, email support@pasal.studio and we will help. Whatever happens to the tools, we will always give you back everything you recorded.

  27. 27

    What you pay, and refunds

Pro is what you pay us for. The price is the one published on the pricing page, one price for every shop, by the month or the year. The amount is shown before you pay, and we will not add a charge to a price you have already accepted.

A new shop opens on Pro with no card, free, for 7 days. We do not charge you when those days end. You pay only when you choose a plan.

You pay from Plan & billing. Checkout opens a Fonepay code for the month or the year you chose. Any bank or wallet can scan it. The payment goes to Retriever Labs, the company behind Retriever. There is no automatic renewal: a plan is one payment for that period, and it ends when the period ends unless you buy again. If you buy again before the period ends, the new time is added to the time you already have. We send an invoice for the payment.

On refunds, the position is this. You can ask for a monthly payment back within 7 days of paying it. You can ask for an annual payment back within 30 days of paying it. Email support@pasal.studio and name the shop and which payment. We refund that payment, and the time it bought comes off the plan. Time you had already paid for, before that payment, stays. After those days, if you stop part way through a period, you keep Pro until the period ends and we do not refund what is left.

These windows are for Pro and Pro Annual, paid in Plan & billing. Retriever Complete is the counter kit, ordered separately, and these windows do not cover the hardware.

If we close your shop because you broke these terms, we keep the unused part only up to what your breach actually cost us, and we refund the rest. If we take away a Pro tool you were paying for and do not replace it, or Retriever is unusable for more than three days in a row for a reason that is ours, tell us and we will refund the part of the period you did not get the benefit of. We do not refund for shorter interruptions, and "The most we can owe you" sets the limit on anything else.

If we change the price, we will tell you before the change, and it will not affect a period you have already paid for.

The same rules are set out on their own at the Refunds page, so they can be read without the rest of these terms. These terms remain the agreement.

Availability, backups, and what we do not promise

We work to keep Retriever fast and online. It is provided as it is today, with whatever faults it has, and we cannot promise it is always available. There will be occasional downtime for maintenance, for updates, and for reasons outside our control. We do not offer an uptime commitment.

Owners and staff with the Backups permission can download selected shop books as a signed ZIP from Settings, Backups. Monthly order spreadsheets remain available from Billing. An archive includes selected billing, customer and audit records, not the entire database, photographs, sign-in accounts or payment secrets. Collection is sequential, not a single database snapshot. A signature checks integrity; it does not encrypt the contents. There is no archive import or full restore button. Keep secure independent copies of records you need. We do not promise a recovery time or an offsite recovery service. See the Backups guide.

We do not promise that Retriever will suit a particular purpose, that it will be free of errors, or that it will produce a particular result for your business.

We do not promise that the figures, bills, invoices, reports or profit numbers Retriever produces are correct for your tax, accounting or legal purposes. They are tools to help you keep your records. Checking them is your job, and "Tax, PAN and VAT invoices" puts the tax rules on you.

We do not give tax, accounting, legal or financial advice. The help assistant in your dashboard is written by an artificial intelligence model and can be wrong. Check anything that costs money.

Apart from what we have promised on this page, we are not making any other promise about Retriever, as far as Nepali law allows. Nothing in this clause removes a right you have under Nepali law, including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.

  29. 29

The most we can owe you

If we get something wrong and it costs you money, there is a limit on what we owe you.

Our total responsibility to you, added up across every claim you ever bring, is limited to whichever is larger: what you paid us for Retriever in the 12 months before the first thing you are claiming about, or NPR 10,000. That is one limit across everything, not a fresh limit for each claim, and it limits what we owe you rather than what you owe us under "If a claim comes because of your shop".

Most shops on Retriever pay us nothing, because they are still inside the 7 day trial. The NPR 10,000 floor is there so that a shop which has paid us nothing still has a real remedy rather than none at all.

Beyond that limit, and as far as the law allows, we are not responsible for lost profit or lost sales, for business you did not win, for data you did not keep your own copy of, or for any dispute between you and your customer, including refunds, deliveries, admission to your events, and money recorded in your khata.

This limit does not apply to death or personal injury caused by us, to our own fraud, or to anything that cannot be limited under Nepali law. The template promise in "Retriever's design, software and templates" sits outside this limit and carries its own, which is what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in this clause takes away the routes Nepali law gives you, including a complaint or a claim under the Consumer Protection Act.

  30. 30

If a claim comes because of your shop

If someone brings a claim against us because of what you sold, what you uploaded, what you wrote, who you asked us to email, or what anyone you gave access to your shop did, you cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it, including legal costs and anything we have to pay out.

In return: we will tell you promptly, we will not settle without asking you first, and you can take part in sorting it out. This does not cover the part of a claim that is caused by our own breach of these terms, and where both of us are at fault we each carry our own share.

  31. 31

Your customers' details, and what we do with them

The customer details in your shop are yours to answer for. We store them and use them to run the service, to do what you ask Retriever to do from your dashboard, and to run and keep Retriever itself working and safe in the ways our Privacy Policy sets out, including the shop level counts and figures described there. We do not use them for anything else.

We keep them confidential. We do not sell them, advertise Retriever to your customers using them, or use them to train artificial intelligence models. Optional shop-authorized review invitations are described in our Privacy Policy and the email clause above.

The companies that help us run Retriever are named in our Privacy Policy and listed in full at retriever.com.np/subprocessors. If that list changes we will tell you before the change takes effect, and if you object you can close your account.

If we discover a breach affecting your customers' details, we will tell you within 72 hours of becoming aware of it, with what we know at that point: what happened, what was affected, and what we are doing about it. If it reaches your customers, we will help you tell them, and our Privacy Policy sets out what we do if a shop cannot or will not.

Data sits on servers outside Nepal, with the providers named in our Privacy Policy.

In return, you confirm that the customer details you put into Retriever are ones you are allowed to hold and to contact, that you have told those people what you collect and why, and that you will deal with their questions about it. If you cannot, we may stop sending mail for you and we may close the shop.

You can ask us for a copy of everything in your shop at any time, before you leave or afterwards, and we will send it within 30 days of the request, in whatever plain format we can produce. Protected records may have to remain after a deletion request, as "Suspending or closing a shop" and our Privacy Policy explain. If you need a signed data processing agreement for your own customers, email us and we will work one out with you.

  32. 32

    Suspending or closing a shop

You can stop using Retriever at any time. To have your shop closed, ask for it in Settings → Close this shop, or email us from the address on the account; to have your account closed, email us. Until a shop is closed, its page stays online and can take orders. Closing it takes its page, its About page and its customer page offline at once, so it takes no more orders or bookings; its bill links stop opening; Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp and TikTok are disconnected; every ChatGPT, Claude or other AI assistant connection is revoked; and you and your staff are signed out. A closed shop can be reopened on request until its uploaded files are deleted, which is a second step; after that it cannot. To pause without closing, hide your products in the Products tab (a hidden product cannot be ordered) and switch bookings off. Our account and data deletion page sets out what we delete and what stays.

We can suspend or close a shop in two ways, and the difference matters.

If you break these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy in a way that can be put right, we will tell you what is wrong and give you 7 days to fix it before we close the shop.

If something is urgent, plainly illegal, or puts other people, other shops or the platform at risk, we can suspend at once and tell you why as soon as we can afterwards. Where we can, we will suspend the part that is the problem rather than the whole shop.

While a shop is suspended, orders already placed can still be read and finished wherever the law allows.

After a shop closes, we do not delete it automatically. You can request a copy of your shop's data, and we will respond within 30 days in a plain format we can produce. Deletion is subject to applicable duties and the protected-record limits in our Privacy Policy. Numbered invoices, collected repairs, returns, Khata and correction histories, issued documents, audit logs and retained archives preserve originals; closing a shop does not erase them. An invoiced or archived shop cannot currently be deleted through the product. We will explain what can be removed and what must remain.

Some parts of this agreement keep working after your account ends: "Your shop and your content", "Retriever's design, software and templates", "Tax, PAN and VAT invoices", "Availability, backups, and what we do not promise", "The most we can owe you", "If a claim comes because of your shop", "Your customers' details, and what we do with them", "Notices, and the rest of the small print", and "Where Retriever is offered, the law, and sorting out a disagreement". So does anything else that by its nature is meant to.

  33. 33

Changes to Retriever and to these terms

We improve Retriever continually. Features may change, be added, or be withdrawn, and that is especially true while Retriever is in early access. If we are going to withdraw something you rely on, we will tell you before we do it, and if you paid for it, "What you pay, and refunds" covers the refund.

If we change these terms, the date at the top of this page changes. If a change matters to how you use Retriever, we will tell you in the dashboard or by email before it takes effect.

Continuing to use Retriever after a change means you accept the new terms. If you do not accept them, stop using Retriever and ask us to close your shop.

  34. 34

    Things outside our control

Neither of us is responsible for failing to do something because of an event outside our reasonable control that we could not have worked around: a strike, a natural event, government action, a network or power failure, or a service Retriever is built on going down or withdrawing without warning. This does not cover a provider stopping work for us because of something we did.

While such an event lasts, our obligations pause. We will tell you what we know and get back to normal as soon as we can. If it lasts more than 30 days, either of us can end this agreement.

  35. 35

Notices, and the rest of the small print

Notices from us go to your account email address. Keep that address current and readable, and tell us if it changes. Where a notice starts a period you have to act in, such as the 7 days in "Suspending or closing a shop", that period runs from the day after we send it, and if you tell us the message did not reach you we will send it again and start the period afresh. Notices from you come to support@pasal.studio.

If a court strikes out part of these terms, the rest of them still stands.

If we do not enforce something straight away, we have not given it up.

You may not transfer this agreement to anyone else without asking us first. We may transfer it if our business is reorganised or sold, and we will tell you when we do.

These terms, the Privacy Policy and the Acceptable Use Policy are the whole agreement between us. Where the pricing page, the help centre, an email from us, or anything else we have written disagrees with these terms, these terms are the ones that apply.

Nothing here makes us partners, or makes either of us the other's agent or employer.

These terms are written in English. If we publish a translation and the two disagree, the English version is the one that applies.

  36. 36

Where Retriever is offered, the law, and sorting out a disagreement

Retriever is offered to businesses in Nepal, priced in Nepali rupees, and paid for by local methods. We do not offer or market Retriever outside Nepal, including in the European Union. If you use Retriever from outside Nepal, that is your choice, and following your own local law is your responsibility.

These terms follow the laws of Nepal.

If something goes wrong between us, talk to us first. Write to support@pasal.studio setting out what the problem is and what you want, and give us 30 days to sort it out. Most things end there, and it is faster and cheaper for both of us than anything that follows.

If that does not work, the courts of Kathmandu handle the dispute. Either of us can still go straight to a court where it is urgent, for example to stop something causing real harm right now.

Nothing in this clause removes the routes Nepali law gives you, including a complaint or a claim under the Consumer Protection Act.

This is written in plain language so it is easy to read. If anything is unclear, email support@pasal.studio and a person will answer. The other pages in this set are the Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy, the Acceptable Use Policy, the Refunds page, the list of companies that help us run Retriever, and how to have your data deleted.
